FAQs

  • How much do you charge?

    An individual therapy session costs £70 and a couples session costs £90.

    You can make payment directly via bank transfer or use PayPal.

    Payment should be made 24 hours prior to the session.  I reserve the right to cancel any session that is not paid for prior to this time.

  • How many sessions will I need?

    This is the most frequently asked question that I get.  Whilst I would love to give you a straight answer, it is impossible to do so.

    The amount of sessions needed varies depending on each individual, the type, number and severity of issues that you have as well as your current capacity to put in the work between sessions.

    What I can tell you is that you are in charge of how many sessions you have.  You can stop at any time, you are not tied into any ongoing contract as you can pay for one session at a time.

  • What happens in a therapy session?

    Each session lasts for 50 minutes.  You can choose if you prefer a video call or telephone call.  However, I do recommend a video call.  I use Zoom but can offer alternative platforms if you prefer.

    Therapy is 'collaborative', meaning you take an active role in the sessions.  We work together to understand and find more helpful ways of coping.   I will give you the space you need to talk and will also ask questions and help you consider areas we can focus on.

    I will usually ask you to do something in between sessions in order to consolidate what we are working on. This is voluntary but does help with your progress.

  • What is your cancellation policy?

    You can cancel your session up to 24 hours beforehand without charge.  If less than 24 hours’ notice is given, the full fee will be payable.

    If I have to cancel a session an alternative appointment will be scheduled as soon as possible by mutual agreement.

  • What are your qualifications?

    I qualified as a Cognitive Behavioural Therapist in 2009 with a COSCA accredited Diploma in Counselling and Groupwork from The Centre of Therapy in Glasgow.

    I have since added to this with various additional training inclulding;
